However, from June 5 to August 5, 2024, the service frequency will increase to daily flights, operating on all days of the week from Monday through Sunday. Caribbean Airlines (CAL) - Expanded Services and Global Connections Caribbean Airlines (CAL) has upheld its current schedule from Trinidad's Piarco International Airport (POS) to Dominica (DOM) with a nonstop service and onward to Barbados (BGI) on Thursdays. The effects of climate change threaten the existence of low-lying small island developing states and continue to destroy lives,” he said. However, he noted that the effort has faced challenges due to internal conflicts, including backbiting, unfair criticism, and a lack of constructive contribution. The DPSU convened its general meeting on Thursday to address these matters.

The 51st CARIFTA Games Kicks Off in Grenada with Dominica Fielding Four Athletes. The highly anticipated 51st CARIFTA Games is all set to kick off at the Kirani James Stadium in St. Georges, Grenada, from March 30 to April 1, 2024. Over ten countries will converge to participate in various events, showcasing their athletic prowess. Dominica will be represented by four talented athletes at the CARIFTA Games 2024. The Rotary Club of Dominica is delighted to announce the 9th Annual National Secondary Schools Literacy Quiz Competition winners , held on March 22nd, 2024, at the Prevost Cinemall conference room. Convent High School emerged victorious as the competition winner, represented by Mia Joseph and Sienna Andrew. They displayed exceptional knowledge and skill throughout the competition, earning them the top spot. In recognition of their achievement, Convent High School received laptops generously donated by the Rotary Club of Tortola, Business Training Guides from Maanz Ltd., and tokens from Finance Focus. Additionally, they were awarded a plaque, trophy, and ten gallons of paint from Harris Paints Dominica Ltd. In second place were Lucas Sorhaindo and Jonathan Theophille of St. Mary’s Academy, who also received laptops from the Rotary Club of Tortola and tokens from Finance Focus. Dominica Grammar School secured the third-place position, represented by Lydia Charles and Prosper. They were awarded tablets from the Rotary Club of Dominica and tokens from Finance Focus. Beijing China, March 25-2024: Dominica’s Prime Minister Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit met with Chinese President H.E Xi Jinping on Monday with both leaders pledging to increase mutual trust, vigorous exchanges and cooperation in various fields. The Prime Minister is leading a delegation to China to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Commonwealth of Dominica and the People’s Republic of China. Prime Minister Skerrit told the Chinese leader Dominica attaches high value to its relations with China based on mutual respect and deep ties of cooperation. He expressed gratitude for China’s support of Dominica’s development goals and the assistance offered during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Prime Minister identified potential areas of further cooperation between the two countries in the fields of infrastructure, tourism, renewable energy, e-commerce, health, agriculture and educational exchanges. He reiterated Dominica’s support for the One China Principle and said Dominica welcomes the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative which have contributed to raising the quality of life of global citizens and the preservation of world peace. Dominica, along with three other Caribbean nations, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing their Citizenship by Investment Programs (CBIP). Led by St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew, the initiative seeks to demonstrate the countries' commitment to operating their CBI programs with adherence to best practices, due diligence processes, and intelligence sharing regarding security and compliance risks. The signatories of the MOU include Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Grenada, all of which are members of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). The agreement, dated March 20, 2024, was commended by Dr. Drew, who announced the countries' intention to raise the minimum threshold of their CBIP to at least US$200,000 by June 30, 2024.
