A local Attorney has called for an increase in the retirement age of judges

Attorney Lennox Lawrence has raised the issue of the retirement age of judges at the Opening of the 2024 Law Year.

The Supreme Court order of the laws of Dominica provides that a judge of the court of appeal shall hold office until the age of 68 years, and a Puisne (High Court) Judge until the age of 65.

He thinks it is timely that consideration be given to increasing the retirement age of judges.
