The Dominica Diabetes Association (DOMDA) is inviting young people between the ages of 16 and 35 to participate in “Sip & Chat,” an interactive evening designed to encourage open conversations about health, wellness, relationships and personal development. The event, themed “Real Conversations. A Healthier Tomorrow,” will take place on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at The Realm in Roseau, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with doors opening at 4:30 p.m.

The initiative will provide a relaxed and engaging environment where young people can discuss issues that directly affect their physical and emotional well- being. Key areas of focus will include blood sugar awareness, mental health, sexuality and relationships, confidence, and knowing your numbers. DOMDA says the event forms part of its wider effort to promote health education, support and empowerment among young people while creating opportunities for meaningful conversations about making healthier choices.

“Sip & Chat” will also encourage participants to become part of DOMDA’s Young

Ambassadors Club, which seeks to engage young people as advocates for healthier lifestyles and greater awareness of diabetes and related health concerns.
