The Dominica Robotics Association (DRA) has announced that a team of five Dominican students will represent the island at the FIRST Global Robotics Challenge 2025, scheduled to take place in Panama.
The international event brings together young innovators from around the world to design and build robots that address real-world challenges through the application of science, technology, engineering, and teamwork.
Representing Dominica are:
From the Dominica State College (DSC)
Dianka George
Cadel Casimir
Khae-Ryan Shillingford
From St. Mary’s Academy (SMA)
Jahim Riviere-Alfred

The team is guided by Mentor Phoenix Jacques and Co-Mentor Odessa Dinnard, who will provide technical and strategic support throughout their preparation and competition journey.
The DRA expressed gratitude to its sponsors and community partners — Create Caribbean, NTRC, 767.Dev, Jaydees Naturals, and Astaphans — for their continued commitment to advancing STEM education and youth innovation in Dominica.
The Dominica Robotics Association commended the students for their dedication and teamwork, noting that their participation reflects Dominica’s growing presence in the global technology and innovation arena.
The team will now intensify preparations for the upcoming challenge, where they will join peers from more than 190 countries in celebrating creativity, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
