The Investment Migration Agency (IMA) Grenada hosted the latest edition of its Symposium Series at the St. John Anglican Pastoral Centre in Gouyave under the theme, "Grenadian Innovation: Creating Local Opportunities Through Investment Migration."
The symposium brought together entrepreneurs, developers, business owners, and community stakeholders to explore how Grenadians can play a greater role in the country's investment migration sector.
A central focus was the Enhanced Local Developers Participation (ELDP) Initiative, which aims to expand access to investment capital for Grenadian-led projects while increasing local participation in the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Programme. Representatives from IMA Grenada, the Grenada CBI Committee, and the Grenada Investment Development Corporation (GIDC) outlined opportunities for local developers across priority sectors including tourism and hospitality, agribusiness, manufacturing, renewable energy, health and wellness, ICT, education, and the creative industries.
The GIDC was highlighted as the primary point of engagement for aspiring developers, providing support in refining project concepts, assessing feasibility, securing approvals, and preparing investment-ready proposals.
GIDC CEO Ronald Theodore stressed that, "The opportunity is real, but opportunity must meet readiness. Our role is to help entrepreneurs develop well-structured, bankable projects through sound planning, financial preparation, and the necessary approvals. The ELDP Initiative provides a pathway, but preparation will determine success."
IMA Grenada CEO Thomas Anthony encouraged, "Rather than relying solely on traditional debt structures, investment migration creates an opportunity for local innovators and developers to attract equity partners. The capital is already flowing into Grenada. Our challenge is to ensure Grenadian entrepreneurs are positioned to access it and transform strong ideas into investment-ready projects."
Discussions also examined how locally driven investments can strengthen communities, create employment, and support Grenada's long-term development through initiatives in community tourism, agriculture, and climate-smart investment.
Chairman of the Grenada CBI Committee, Richard Duncan, OBE, reaffirmed, "Grenada competes on the integrity and quality of its due diligence. Maintaining that credibility is essential to attracting responsible investment while creating more opportunities for Grenadians."
The IMA Symposium Series is part of the Agency's ongoing commitment to public education and stakeholder engagement, bringing conversations on investment migration directly to communities across Grenada.
