On the first anniversary of the passing of the iconic cultural figure, the Alwin Bully Foundation will pay tribute through a church service and a special virtual event scheduled for this Sunday

The Alwin Bully Foundation is set to commemorate the first anniversary of the late cultural leader's passing with a church service and a special virtual presentation on Sunday, March 10.

This event aims to honor and celebrate the remarkable contributions of Dr. Alwin Bully, a distinguished Dominican artist and visionary.

Leading up to the planned activities on March 10, 2024, the Foundation established in Dr. Alwin Bully's honor expressed pride in providing a unique opportunity for the community to reflect on his significant impact on national and regional cultural and artistic development. They highlighted his enduring legacy as a catalyst for building a more just, progressive, and democratic society.

The Foundation emphasized Dr. Bully's positive nationalistic approach to his work, advocating for creativity and ingenuity to shape a country and region that offers opportunities for all, regardless of background or status.

They see his legacy as an inspiration for future generations to leverage art and culture in uniting people, sharing stories of identity, and fostering prosperity, especially among the youth.

As part of the commemorative events, a Mass at St. Gerard’s Chapel on March 10th is dedicated to Dr. Alwin Bully's memory, followed by a two-hour virtual presentation in the evening.

The virtual event via Zoom will feature short messages, reflections, cultural performances, and the screening of a documentary titled ‘Nite Box’.
