Portsmouth Football Academy Hosts Successful U-11 & U-13 Youth Football Festival Through Strong Collaboration

The Portsmouth Football Academy, in collaboration with Sport Aid Dominica and Roosevelt Skerrit Bombers FC, successfully hosted the U-11 and U-13 Youth Football Festival in Portsmouth on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

The festival brought together talented young footballers from Dominica and Guadeloupe in a dynamic showcase of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship, highlighting the continued growth and development of grassroots football across the region.

The event was made possible through the generous support of Hon. Fenella Wenham Sheppard, Tois Piton Water, Roy Larocque, Benji’s Muliti-Trade, and the Dominica Football Association, whose contributions ensured a professionally executed and impactful tournament.

U-13 Division Highlights

In the U-13 category, Club Sport Guadeloupeemerged as champions following an outstanding unbeaten run. They sealed their dominance with a 3–0 victory over Newtown JFA in the final.

U-13 Individual Awards

  • Best Goalkeeper: Djayden BÉNARD (Club Sport Guadeloupe)

  • Best Defender: Zage Campbell (Newtown JFA)

  • Best Midfielder & MVP: Kylian DURIMEL(Club Sport Guadeloupe)

  • Top Scorer: Tiago PENTIER (Club Sport Guadeloupe)

The U-11 division saw Newtown JFA capture the championship title after a competitive round-robin format, finishing ahead of National FA and Portsmouth FA.

U-11 Individual Awards

  • Best Goalkeeper: Zayne Shemiakov

  • Best Defender: Zurie Charles

  • Best Midfielder & MVP: Dylon Prevost

Strengthening Youth Development

The festival provided a structured and competitive environment for young players to gain valuable match experience, while also fostering regional collaboration between Dominica and the French West Indies.
