Prime Minister Skerrit urges CELAC to provide essential assistance to Haiti, addressing the country's current humanitarian, governance, security, and other challenges.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit emphasized at the CELAC Summit that the organization was established to address challenges both independently and collectively among member countries.

He advocated for CELAC to adhere to its original mandate.

Skerrit specifically called for support for Haiti, facing various challenges such as governance, security, and humanitarian issues.

He also highlighted the persistent failure to meet commitments to Small Island Developing States (SIDS) concerning climate change, even at climate conferences.

Mr Skerrit proposed the necessity of a dedicated regional climate conference and stressed the importance of SIDS demanding action from the developed world.
