PRO of DSWMC states that Dominica was selected to join the Recycle OECS Zero Waste (Adopt-A-School) project because it is the only member state that already has a curbing site mechanism in operation

The Dominica Solid Waste Management Corporation (DSWMC) has launched the Zero Waste (Adopt-A-School) program under the Recycle OECS project, involving 47 schools/4-H clubs and 39 businesses.

Rhoda St. John, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the DSWMC, highlighted Dominica's selection for the project due to its established curbside mechanism, serving as a model for the region.

St. John emphasized that the initiative extends beyond schools to tackle industrial plastic pollution in the ocean, urging individuals to avoid littering.
