Registration Now Open for the Second Annual GEMS Artisan Market (GAM) 2026

Expanded Market Returns October 28–29 at Fort Young Hotel During Dominica's Independence Season

– The GEMS Foundation is pleased to announce that registration is now officially open for the Second Annual GEMS Artisan Market (GAM), taking place Wednesday, October 28 and Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Fort Young Hotel from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day.

Following a successful inaugural event, GAM returns this year with an expanded vision, offering a premier platform for Dominican artisans, creatives, designers, food producers, and small businesses to showcase their products to a wider audience during one of the busiest periods on the island's cultural calendar.

This year's market has been strategically moved from August to the week leading into Creole Day, placing it at the heart of Dominica's Independence celebrations. The timing is expected to attract increased patronage from returning nationals, members of the Dominican diaspora, regional visitors, and international tourists who travel to the island to experience its rich culture and festivities.

"The move to October is a strategic decision that allows us to capitalize on the excitement and increased visitor traffic surrounding Independence celebrations," said Jael Joseph, Director of Entertainment, Arts and Culture at the GEMS Foundation. "Our artisans create exceptional products that deserve greater exposure, and GAM provides a unique opportunity to connect them with customers from both home and abroad while celebrating the creativity that defines Dominica."

This year's edition will feature up to 50 carefully selected exhibitors, making it the largest GAM to date. To ensure a curated marketplace that reflects quality, diversity, and innovation, pre-registration is mandatory, and participation will be limited to successful applicants.

Artisans, craft makers, fashion designers, visual artists, agro-processors, wellness brands, jewellery makers, home décor creators, and other creative entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply early, as spaces are expected to fill quickly.

Beyond shopping, visitors can look forward to a vibrant cultural experience featuring local cuisine, handcrafted products, live artisan demonstrations, networking opportunities, and live entertainment each evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., creating an atmosphere that celebrates the best of Dominican creativity and culture.

Since its launch, the GEMS Artisan Market has become more than a marketplace—it has evolved into a platform that empowers entrepreneurs, promotes local craftsmanship, and supports the continued growth of Dominica's creative industries.

Interested vendors can now complete their registration by visiting the GEMS Foundation's social media platforms or contacting the Foundation directly. Applications will remain open until all available spaces have been filled.

The GEMS Foundation encourages artisans not to delay, as only 50 participants will be selected for this year's market.
