The Rotary Club of Portsmouth is pleased to announce the successful completion and launch of two new playground projects at Concord Primary School and Dublanc Primary School, strengthening its ongoing commitment to providing safe, engaging, and inclusive play spaces for children throughout Dominica. With these additions, the Club has now delivered a total of five playgrounds across the island.
The playground at Concord Primary School has been rehabilitated and upgraded through the generous support of the Rotary Club of Bracebridge, Canada, breathing new life into a space that continues to serve as a hub for student recreation and development. At Dublanc Primary School, a new playground has been established with the support of Rotary District 7030, expanding access to structured play for students in the community.
These initiatives form part of the Rotary Club of Portsmouth’s broader focus on child development, wellness, and community resilience. The Club continues to prioritize projects that support not only education, but also the physical and social well-being of young people.
Lizra Fabien, Chair of Service Projects, emphasized the vision driving this work: “Our ambition as a Club is clear that every child deserves access to a safe and inspiring play space. We are committed to seeing playgrounds established in schools across Dominica, and we will continue to build partnerships that make this possible. We extend an invitation to all who desire to collaborate with us in making this possible. Special recognition is given to the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman who visited our club during the period we launched both playgrounds.”
The Rotary Club of Portsmouth extends sincere appreciation to its partners, donors, and community stakeholders who continue to support this mission. The Club also invites individuals, organizations, and partners who share this vision to collaborate in expanding this initiative to more schools across the island. Together, we are building spaces where children can play, grow, and thrive.
