Several mediates to be undertaken in the next few months to improve on both quality and quantity of Dominica's agricultural produce

Program Director for the Caribbean Agricultural Productivity Improvement Activity, Sandiford Edwards says a value chain approach has been taken and in the next 7 months, focus will be placed on dasheen/sweet potatoes, passion-fruit and cassava as three initial value chains for intervention.

This comes as Dominican farmers & agro-processors are set to benefit from the $5.3M Caribbean Agricultural Productivity Improvement Activity.

Meanwhile, Technical officer for Projects & Services in the Ministry of Agriculture Dr Almario Casimir says one intervention of particular interest is "how do we strengthen the linkages with financial institutions in terms of un-lending finances to the farming community." #Productivity #Agriculture #Produce #Farms
