Asa Bantan to Host 10th Annual Summer Daybreak Breakfast Fete Weekend

Government-supported anniversary event expected to attract regional visitors and support economic activity in Grandbay

– Asa Bantan's 10th Annual Summer Daybreak Breakfast Fete Weekend returns to Grandbay from August 7-10, 2026, marking a decade of one of Dominica's established summer entertainment events. The anniversary edition features four days of activities, including the Lighting Parade, Pre-Breakfast Fete Party, the 10th Annual Summer Daybreak Breakfast Fete, Breakfast Fete Cool Off and the Island Tour and Wet Fete Finale. Patrons are encouraged to wear red, the official colour of the 10th anniversary celebration, throughout the weekend's festivities.

Supported by the Government of Dominica through the Ministry of Tourism and Discover Dominica Authority (DDA), the event forms part of Dominica's 2026 summer events calendar and is expected to attract visitors from Dominica, the wider Caribbean and the diaspora while supporting businesses in Grand Bay and neighbouring communities, including accommodations, restaurants, bars, transportation providers and vendors.

Over the past decade, the Summer Daybreak Breakfast Fete has grown from a single event into a four-day program that has become a regular feature of Dominica's summer entertainment calendar. This year's anniversary edition features an expanded schedule of activities and more than a dozen Dominican, regional and international performers across four days of entertainment.

Founder of the Summer Daybreak Breakfast Fete, Asa Bantan, said the 10th anniversary represents years of commitment from patrons, sponsors, partners and supporters who have helped the event grow.

Weekend Schedule of Events

• Friday, August 7 | Lighting Parade (7:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.)

  
  

  The weekend opens with the Lighting Parade, a street procession from the Grand Bay Community Centre to Lalay. Patrons are encouraged to wear red while enjoying performances by TK International, Asa Bantan and DJ Shil. An EC$60 drinks package will be available.

  
  
  
  

• Saturday, August 8 | Pre-Breakfast Fete Party (1:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.)

  
  

  The celebrations continue into the early hours of Saturday at Hyland, Grand Bay, leading into Sunday's main event.

  
  
  
  

• Sunday, August 9 | 10th Annual Summer Daybreak Breakfast Fete (1:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.)

  
  

  The main event takes place on the Savannah in Grand Bay. Known as "The People's Fete," the anniversary edition will feature Jamaican dancehall sensation Valiant alongside Dominican and regional performers Asa Bantan, Trilla G, Jixel,  Gwada G, Kenny G, BRG Hollywood, Reo Ok Boom, Eddy, Little Boy, Lestef KJF, Pudaz, Freddy, Fifin & Wotlis, Faithii, Devon, King Kembé (St. Maarten), Strosey and SMS (Guadeloupe). Patrons can enjoy the festivities from the Dry Zone, Wet Zone or one of the available VIP experiences.

  
  
  
  

• Sunday, August 9 | Breakfast Fete Cool Off (9:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.)

  
  

  The celebrations continue Sunday night at Hyland, Grand Bay, with the Breakfast Fete Cool Off, featuring bouyon, soca, reggae and dancehall music.

  
  
  
  

• Monday, August 10 | Island Tour & Wet Fete Finale

  
  

  The Breakfast Fete Island Tour departs Roseau, making scheduled stops in Massacre, St. Joseph and Mero before returning to Grand Bay, where the Wet Fete Finale will bring the anniversary weekend to a close.
