Atkinson Sewenal Festival Returns with Full Cultural Showcase

The Honourable Cozier Frederick and the Atkinson Village Council are pleased to announce the long awaited return of the Atkinson Sewenal Festival from 5pm on Sunday, December 21, in the village of Atkinson.


After a seven-year hiatus, the Sewenal Festival makes a powerful comeback, celebrating Dominican Christmas traditions, community pride, and the rich diversity of our cultural expressions. The festival is proudly supported by the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, reaffirming its commitment to community-based cultural events and heritage preservation.


The Sewenal Festival is a unique Christmas cultural experience that blends traditional carolling, Jing Ping rhythms, Kalinago heritage, choirs, and contemporary performances in one vibrant village setting. Rooted in the customs of Christmases past, the festival brings together generations through music, faith, and community spirit.
