Dominica Launches National Gospel Festival “Glory in Paradise”

Government-led event set for February 28, 2026, at Windsor Park Sports Stadium

— The Ministry of Tourism and Discover Dominica Authority yesterday officially launched the National Gospel Festival, Glory in Paradise, a product of the Government of Dominica, developed in collaboration with faith-based organizations and community partners.

The inaugural festival will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The announcement was made during a press conference hosted by the Discover Dominica Authority in Roseau, where organizers outlined the vision for Glory in Paradise as a national gathering that brings together worship, music and community engagement while strengthening Dominica’s events calendar and supporting tourism development.

Positioned as a spiritual and cultural experience, the festival will feature international, regional and local gospel artists, welcoming residents, visitors and members of the diaspora. The initiative reflects a growing interest in faith-centered experiences, while creating space for unity, reflection and collective participation.

Speaking at the launch, Minister for Tourism Denise Charles Pemberton said the festival aligns with the Government’s broader approach to national development and events programming.

Glory in Paradise reflects our belief that national events should strengthen unity, provide positive spaces for reflection and contribute to social and economic development. Through the Discover Dominica Authority, the Government is proud to support an initiative that brings people together while enriching our national events calendar,” the Minister said.

Chief Executive Officer and Director of Tourism, Marva Williams, said the Discover Dominica Authority is approaching the festival with the same level of commitment applied to its flagship events.

Glory in Paradise is being given the same level of strategic focus, operational planning and promotional support that the Discover Dominica Authority applies to the World Creole Music Festival. From production to partnerships, this event is being treated with equal importance and professionalism, Williams said.

Admission to Glory in Paradise will be by voluntary contribution at the gates. Members of the public are encouraged to attend, participate and give as led by their hearts.

Patrons can expect an evening of prayer, praise and fellowship, with prayers offered for families, youth, peace, national development and environmental protection. The program will also provide opportunities for Christian youth and local artistes to share the stage with regional and international performers, supporting exposure, growth and collaboration.

The festival’s musical line-up reflects a wide range of gospel expressions. Local artistes include DJ Alfie, J-Cro (Calvin Deravariere), Champion in God, Mickael Ferrol, Angel Joseph, Sanctified, Nyel Grove, Vessels of Honour, Jerry Lloyd, Loubiere Catholic Youth Choir, Henrietta Matthew, Angel Anthony, Lieselle and Lamar Jervier, Qadosh (dance), Expressions of Him Speech Chorale and TGFG Youth Singers.

Regional gospel artistes include Carlene Davis of Jamaica, Positive of Trinidad and Tobago and Blessed Messenger of Trinidad and Tobago. International gospel artistes scheduled to perform are Sinach of Nigeria, Ada Ehi of Nigeria and Travis Greene of the United States of America.

The Ministry of Tourism and Discover Dominica Authority expressed appreciation to the faith leaders, community activists and partners who have collaborated to shape and guide the festival. Organizers have emphasized that continued partnership across the public, private and faith-based sectors will be essential to the success of this inaugural event.
