PRIME MINISTER SKERRIT ATTENDS 78TH OECS AUTHORITY MEETING IN ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA

Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit is in Antigua and Barbuda to participate in the 78th Meeting of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Authority, being held from June 21–22, 2026.


Heads of Government of OECS Member States are meeting to discuss key regional

priorities, including economic development, regional integration, climate resilience,

security, food and energy security, freedom of movement, and strengthened cooperation in areas such as health, education and digital transformation.


Prime Minister Skerrit joined fellow regional leaders for the Opening Ceremony Sunday, during which Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Hon. Gaston Browne, officially assumed the Chairmanship of the OECS Authority from Prime Minister of Saint

Vincent and the Grenadines, Hon. Dr. Godwin Friday.


During the Prime Minister's absence from the State, Minister for Finance, Economic

Development, Climate Resilience and Social Security, Hon. Dr. Irving McIntyre, will serve as Acting Prime Minister.
